    • If you’re aged 50-85 we guarantee to accept you, with no medical
    • Premiums start from just £4 a month, the lowest you’ll find in the market
    • Life-long cover as long as you pay your premiums for life
  • *Special offer

As a special offer, all customers taking out a new Plan will have a 10% bigger cash sum, for the same age and premium, than if the Plan had been taken out before 1st August 2014. This offer ends on 30th November 2014.

  • Over 50 life insurance - girls walking in sunflowers

    How does it work?

It couldn’t be easier to apply. If you’re aged 50 – 85 and a UK resident, you are guaranteed to be accepted. And there are no medical or health questions – we won’t even ask if you smoke. Then a fixed cash sum will be paid on your death, after the first two years. If you die during the first two years of your Plan, we’ll pay out all the premiums paid, plus half as much again unless you were to die in an accident when we’d pay out the full cash sum.

You’ll just need to be sure you’re happy with your monthly premiums as they are payable for life and if you stop paying your Plan will end and you won’t get anything back. You should also be aware that depending on how long you live, you could pay in more than the cash sum paid out.

    How much does it cost?

Leaving a cash sum for your family can cost less than you think. Premiums start from just £4 a month - which is the UK’s lowest premium for plans of this type. What’s more, the first month’s premium is FREE. One thing you can be sure of - we promise never to increase your premiums or reduce your cover, although as the cash sum is fixed, inflation will reduce its value over time.

We can’t give you advice about whether this Plan is right for you, so before you take one out, you should make sure you read our terms and conditions, which has all the information you need about the Plan and its risks and benefits. The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is provided by AXA Wealth Ltd.

  • Frequently asked questions

    • Why should I consider a Guaranteed Over 50 Plan?

The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is a simple way to leave a fixed cash sum for your family after you’ve gone, either as a gift or to help towards funeral expenses.

    • How does it work?

The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is a whole of life policy - you choose a fixed monthly premium at the start and provided you keep paying them throughout your life, a fixed cash sum will be paid out when you die, after the Plan has been in force for two years.

    • Do I need a medical?

No. There are no health questions to answer and no medical whatsoever. Provided you’re aged 50 - 85 and a UK resident, you’re guaranteed to be accepted.

    • How much will it cost me?

You can choose from a range of premiums between £4 and £74 per month (as long as the amount of life cover does not exceed £25,000) and to help get your Plan underway, the first premium is free. As this is a whole of life plan, you need to choose a monthly premium you are confident you'll always be able to pay throughout your life because if you were to stop paying your premiums, we would have to cancel your Plan (which we really don’t want to do) and you wouldn't get anything back. You should also be aware that depending on how long you live, you could pay in more than the cash sum paid out.

    • What is inflation and how will it affect my cash sum?

Ever noticed how your money doesn’t go as far as it used to? That’s probably down to inflation. Inflation is where prices of goods and services increase over time. For example, in 1983 £1 would have bought you 4 pints of milk, but in 2013 £1 will have bought you only 2 pints. When thinking about choosing a cover amount, you should think about how much prices (especially funeral prices) may increase over time and whether the fixed cash sum you choose today will be able to cover the things you would like it to, in the future.

    • Can I cancel the Plan?

You have 30 days from the day you receive your policy documents during which you can cancel your Plan and have any premiums paid refunded in full. After that, you can cancel your Plan at any time by writing to us. Remember, if you do cancel, your life cover will end and you wouldn't get anything back. As long as you continue to pay your monthly premiums, your Plan can’t be cancelled by us for any reason.

    • How do you make a claim?

Making a claim is a simple, reliable process. Our staff will do everything they can to make claims go as smoothly as possible. When the time comes, all your loved ones will need to do is simply call us or write to us and we will help them with the rest. There are more details about how to make a claim here.

    • What is funeral benefit option?

If you are planning to use the cash sum from your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan to pay towards your funeral, you could add our FREE funeral benefit option to your Plan. The cash sum from your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan will be paid directly to Golden Charter (who represent the UK’s largest network of independent funeral directors) who will use it to help pay for your funeral. It doesn’t cost you anything extra to add funeral benefit option to your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan, but you do need to make sure you keep paying the premiums for your Plan. What's more, the funeral director, selected by Golden Charter, will make a contribution of £250 towards the cost of your funeral, helping your loved ones even more.

    • Who is Golden Charter?

If you add the FREE funeral benefit option to your Plan, the funeral services will be provided by a funeral director assigned by our trusted partner Golden Charter who represent the UK’s largest network of independent funeral directors. Golden Charter have been established for nearly 25 years, and represents over 3,300 local funeral directors across the country, so they’re perfectly placed to support your loved ones at a difficult time.
