UK's most affordable plan of its type
UK's most affordable plan of its type
The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is the UK's No 1 choice for over 50 life insurance^. It's a simple and affordable way to leave a fixed cash sum on death for your loved ones. All we ask is that you keep paying your premiums for life, or your Plan will end and you'll get nothing back.
Premiums are from as little as £3.90 a month - that's the lowest premium available anywhere in the UK for life cover plans of this type† . It's simple to apply and you can get an over 50 life insurance quote today in less than 60 seconds.
It couldn’t be easier to apply. If you’re aged 50 – 85 and a UK resident, you are guaranteed to be accepted. And there are no medical or health questions – we won’t even ask if you smoke. Then a fixed cash sum will be paid on your death, after the first two years. If you die during the first two years of your Plan, we’ll pay out all the premiums paid, plus half as much again unless you were to die in an accident when we’d pay out the full cash sum.
You’ll just need to be sure you’re happy with your monthly premiums as they are payable for life and if you stop paying your Plan will end and you won’t get anything back. You should also be aware that depending on how long you live, you could pay in more than the cash sum paid out.
Leaving a cash sum for your family can cost less than you think. Premiums start from just £3.90 a month - which is the UK's lowest premium for plans of this type† . What's more, the first month's premium is FREE. One thing you can be sure of - we promise never to increase your premiums or reduce your cover, although as the cash sum is fixed, inflation will reduce its value over time.
We can't give you advice about whether this Plan is right for you, so before you take one out, you should make sure you read our terms and conditions, which has all the information you need about the Plan and its risks and benefits. The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is provided by AXA Wealth Ltd.
Applying for the Plan is easy - you can get a quote for over 50s Life Insurance today in less than 60 seconds.

How we use your Personal Information
You may be planning to use the cash sum from your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan to pay towards your funeral. So why not add the funeral benefit option to your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan for no additional cost?
It's a great way to help those you care about by putting some plans in place for your funeral. Plus, you'll receive a £250 contribution towards the cost of your funeral, helping your loved ones even more.
When you add funeral benefit option to your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan, the cash sum will be paid directly to The Co-operative Funeralcare, rather than to your estate (your estate is any property, possessions or money that you leave when you die). The Co-operative Funeralcare are our trusted partner and is one of the UK's largest funeral directors. The Co-operative Funeralcare will use your cash sum to pay towards the cost of your funeral.
When you add funeral benefit option, The Co-operative Funeralcare will send you a welcome pack that contains a Personal Wishes form. Using your Personal Wishes form you can record how you would like your funeral to be, including the type of service, your favourite readings, music or poems - it's up to you. Your Personal Wishes will be securely stored with your Funeral Benefit Option information and provided to the Funeral Director when the time comes to arrange your funeral. They will then discuss incorporating them into your funeral with the loved one who is arranging it. Personal Wishes can be recorded at any time, and added to or changed as often as you like and at no cost to you.
The Co-operative Funeralcare will also include a Certificate within the welcome pack, this Certificate should be presented to the Funeral Director at the time of making the funeral arrangements to validate your entitlement to the Contribution.
It doesn't cost you anything extra to add funeral benefit option to your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan, but you do need to make sure you keep paying the premiums for your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan.
If your funeral costs less than the cash sum from your Guaranteed Over 50 Plan and the £250 contribution, any money left over will be paid back to your estate. However, if the funeral costs more, your loved ones would need to pay the balance. You need to be aware that inflation will reduce the value of both the cash sum and the £250 contribution.
If you die within the first two years of the Guaranteed Over 50 Plan the full cash sum will not be payable. Instead all the premiums already paid plus half as much again would be paid to your estate rather than The Co-operative Funeralcare. However if The Co-operative Funeralcare conducts your funeral your representatives would still be entitled to the £250 contribution.
If you die within the first two years of taking out the Guaranteed Over 50 Plan as a result of an accident (see sections 3 and 4 of the Guaranteed Over 50 Plan Terms and Conditions) or within 90 days of the accident from injuries sustained in it, you will be entitled to the Accidental Death Benefit and the full cash sum will be paid to your estate rather than The Co-operative Funeralcare. However if The Co-operative Funeralcare conducts your funeral your representatives would still be entitled to the £250 contribution.
You can only take out funeral benefit option if you haven't done so already. This includes any over 50s life cover you may have with another provider. Also, if you already have a pre-paid funeral plan with The Co-operative Funeralcare you can't take up this offer and if you were to take out a funeral plan in the future, your funeral benefit option would be cancelled.
The Co-operative Funeralcare is a trading name of Funeral Services Limited (registered number 30808R), a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 incorporated in England and Wales, whose registered office is 1 Angel Square, Manchester, M60 0AG. Vat registered 403 3146 04. Part of the Co-operative Group.
Adding funeral benefit option to your Plan couldn't be more simple. When you apply online for the Guaranteed Over 50 Plan, you simply need to tick an extra box. Don't worry - we'll remind you during the application process. If you'd like more information about funeral benefit option, you can find it in the Co-operative Funeralcare terms and conditions.
The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is a simple way to leave a fixed cash sum for your family after you’ve gone, either as a gift or to help towards funeral expenses.
The Guaranteed Over 50 Plan is a whole of life policy - you choose a fixed monthly premium at the start and provided you keep paying them throughout your life, a fixed cash sum will be paid out when you die, after the Plan has been in force for two years.
No. There are no health questions to answer and no medical whatsoever. Provided you’re aged 50 - 85 and a UK resident, you’re guaranteed to be accepted.
You can choose from a range of premiums between £3.90 and £74 per month (as long as the amount of life cover does not exceed £25,000) and to help get your Plan underway, the first premium is free. As this is a whole of life plan, you need to choose a monthly premium you are confident you'll always be able to pay throughout your life because if you were to stop paying your premiums, we would have to cancel your Plan (which we really don’t want to do) and you wouldn't get anything back. You should also be aware that depending on how long you live, you could pay in more than the cash sum paid out.
Ever noticed how your money doesn't go as far as it used to? That's probably down to inflation. Inflation is where prices of goods and services increase over time. For example, In 1980 you could buy nearly three loaves of bread for £1, but today you can only buy one*. When thinking about choosing a cover amount, you should think about how much prices (especially funeral prices) may increase over time and whether the fixed cash sum you choose today will be able to cover the things you would like it to, in the future.

You have 30 days from the day you receive your policy documents during which you can cancel your Plan and have any premiums paid refunded in full. After that, you can cancel your Plan at any time by writing to us. Remember, if you do cancel, your life cover will end and you wouldn't get anything back. As long as you continue to pay your monthly premiums, your Plan can’t be cancelled by us for any reason.
Making a claim is a simple, reliable process. Our staff will do everything they can to make claims go as smoothly as possible. When the time comes, all your loved ones will need to do is simply call us or write to us and we will help them with the rest. There are more details about how to make a claim here.
